The EU Withdrawal-Function Obligation Is Already in Force
Article 11a of the Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU — inserted by Directive (EU) 2023/2673 — has applied since 19 June 2026. It requires an online withdrawal function with a two-step withdraw-and-confirm flow, an acknowledgment of receipt on a durable medium, and a record of the request. If your PrestaShop shop sells B2C at a distance in the EU, this is a current legal requirement, not an upcoming one.

What is the EU withdrawal function?
The withdrawal function is a mandatory online cancellation flow introduced by Article 11a of the Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU, inserted by Directive (EU) 2023/2673. It requires B2C shops concluding distance contracts online to offer a statutory two-step withdraw-and-confirm flow, acknowledge receipt on a durable medium, and keep a record of the request. The obligation has applied since 19 June 2026.
