What Is a PrestaShop MCP Server?

What the Official Module Doesn't Do

Admin-Only Access

Every authorised user gets full admin-level access. There's no way to give a customer service rep read-only order access without also giving them the ability to delete products.

No Multi-Store Context

PrestaShop's multistore capability is not surfaced in the MCP layer. Managing five stores means five separate sessions and no cross-store visibility.

No Outbound Webhooks

The MCP can read and write your store data, but it cannot push events to your WMS, ERP, accounting system, or email platform when things change.

No Audit Trail

When an AI action modifies a product price or order status, there is no system-level log of who triggered it, when, or from which AI client. Compliance teams need this.

Synchronous Only

Bulk operations — mass price updates, catalogue imports, batch order processing — run synchronously and hit PHP timeouts. There is no job queue for background tasks.

No Third-Party Module Tools

Custom modules, marketplace extensions, and ERP integrations are invisible to the official MCP. If your business logic lives in a custom module, the AI can't reach it.
